A French tart is not an exceptionally flirty Parisian woman, but a delectable pastry often filled with almond paste and topped with fruit.
Since France is so well known for wine, I decided to use grapes to top this particular tart. And what a fabulous combo, if I do say so myself. The grapes add the perfect balance of sweet and, well … tart.
This recipe is fun and flirty with just a bit of attitude that teases your taste buds, so maybe that first definition is not so far off. In any case, it’s a lovely pastry perfect for an elegant dessert or afternoon tea party.
Recipe Notes: You can use a pie crust mix or make your own, look at this recipe here for Perfect Pie Crust. Make sure your almond paste is in fact gluten free – not all are. I used Wholesome! organic sugar and powdered sugar in this recipe and as always, make sure to use only pure extracts.
